ITS - SOLICITING BIDS FOR REPLACING, RETROFITTING OR REPOWERING DIESEL FLEET

ITS, a sub-awardee, has been awarded by the Port of Long Beach a grant through the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act of 2009 to retrofit, replace or repower qualified diesel-powered cargo handling equipment in Long Beach.

The breakdown of actions and equipment type are as follows:

RETROFIT (CARB Level 3 Verified)
2001 – 2005 Tophandlers (Kalmar and Taylor) - BID CLOSED
2004 Forklifts (Mitsubishi, Caterpillar, Hoist, Kalmar, Taylor)

Significant Dates:
28th July, 2009 = Bid process begins and interested vendors can request Equipment List*br
6th & 7th August, 2009 = Site visit available by appointment only
14th August, 2009 = Last day for Vendors to request Equipment List
20th & 21st August, 2009 = Site visit available by appointment only
10th & 11th September, 2009 = Site visit available by appointment only
9th October, 2009 = Due date to provide final quotes**
12th thru 16th October, 2009 = Top Vendor (s) chosen

REPLACEMENT (ISB Engine)
Terminal Yard Tractors - BID CLOSED

Significant Dates:
28th July, 2009 = Bid process begins and vendors can request via email yard tractor requirements
30th July, 2009 = Vendors provide quotes based on yard tractor requirements
31st July, 2009 = Top vendor identified and notified

Portable Lights - NEWLY POSTED

Significant Dates:
4th January, 2010 = Bid Process begins and vendors can request via email Equipment List*
23rd January, 2010 = Vendors provide quotes based on Equipment List data and/or site visit (Visit must be made by appointment only on Thursday or Friday after 4th january and before 23rd January,2010)
30th January, 2010 = Top vendor identified and notified

REPOWER
Tophandler (Taylor) with Taylor Tier III Kit + Installation - BID CLOSED
Diesel Yard Tractors to Propane + Installation - BID CLOSED

       * Equipment List will provide vehicle and engine - year, make, model, bhp, and displacement
       ** As required by EPA/POLB, quotes must be itemized to include Material, Labor, Transportation (if applicable), Tax and grand total.

All participants must strictly follow vendor guidelines as dictated by the Environmental Protection Agency and enforced by the Port of Long Beach. Additional information and requirements will be provided as vendors are chosen.
